 Yes, in a practical sense. Surface textures — hammered, carved, brushed — are far more forgiving of everyday scratches than high-polish plain bands. A scratch on a hammered band is nearly invisible because the surface already has irregular facets. A scratch on a plain polished band can be clearly visible.

Yes. Interior engraving is available on all carved bands 4mm and wider. The exterior carving has no effect on the interior of the band, so your personal message or date can be added to any carved design. Interior engraving is one of our most popular add-ons.

Carved bands require the same care as plain bands — avoid harsh chemicals, clean periodically with mild soap and warm water, and store separately to prevent scratches from other jewelry. Deep carved designs may collect soap residue over time; a soft toothbrush is effective for keeping carved grooves clean.

For carved designs to read clearly on the hand, 5mm or wider is recommended. At narrower widths, surface textures can appear cluttered. 6mm is the sweet spot — wide enough for visual impact, comfortable for everyday wear. If you prefer a slimmer profile, hammered texture works at 4mm; intricate carving works best at 5mm+.

Tungsten and titanium cannot be carved or resized. We do not carry tungsten or titanium rings. Our gold carved bands are available at comparable price points with the added benefit of lifetime resizing.

Most carved band orders ship within 10–14 business days. Complex custom carved designs may require 14–21 business days. Rush processing is available. All bands are made to order — we do not stock pre-made inventory.
